Recent Caltrain ridership stats show that ridership has more than doubled since the service was electrified in 2024, and is back to over 80% of pre-pandemic ridership. On weekends, ridership has more than doubled, and is more than 50% higher than pre-pandemic levels. Customer satisfaction is at a record high.

Measure RTM on the ballot is essential to prevent drastic service cuts that would reverse the progress and cause ridership to plummet. If Measure RTM doesn’t pass, Caltrain is considering:
- Closing more than one-third of stations,
- Eliminating all weekend service
- Reducing train frequency to once an hour
- Ending service by 9 p.m.
- Cutting segments of services.
Meanwhile, BART ridership on weekends is also back to pre-pandemic levels, overall ridership has been reaching post-pandemic highs. BART customer satisfaction is also at a record high.

If Measure RTM does not pass, BART has said they would need to cut more than half the service and cut up to 15 stations. The service cuts would lead to massive traffic jams, with Bay Bridge car commuters spending an hour more a day in traffic.

So if you haven’t voted yet, please vote YES on RTM and tell your friends.
