This week: High Speed Rail Community Working Groups in MV and SF

This week, the High Speed Rail Authority is holding two more Community Working Group sessions in Mountain View (for Santa Clara County) and San Francisco. The first such meeting was held in Millbrae for San Mateo County.

These groups are intended to gather feedback and facilitate the sharing information about the planning and environmental process for the blended system where High Speed Rail will share tracks with Caltrain.

Some of the key topics for discussion will include:
* passing tracks – which will be important to enable a high-quality Caltrain schedule when sharing the tracks with faster long-distance trains
* station access planning – driving, walking, bicycling, transit
* stations, including platform sharing
* crossing safety, including planning for grade separations

The meetings are “fishbowl” style, with discussion among community working group members, and the opportunity for comments at the end from members of the general public.

The two meetings this week are:

Tuesday, August 2, 6-8pm
Adobe House, 157 Moffett Blvd, Mountain View
(across Central Street from Mountain View Transit Station)

Thursday, August 4, 6-8pm
Spur San Francisco
654 Mission Street, San Francisco
