Tomorrow, Thursday July 2 at 9:30pm, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) Mobile Source Committee will be considering allocating $20Million to help complete the first phase of Caltrain electrification. Â The mostly-electric system scheduled to start operating in 2020 will reduce air pollution by nearly 90% compared to todayâ€™s diesel system, improving health along the corridor and especially in areas where trains park in San Francisco and San Jose.
