Sierra Club ranks Caltrain electrification the best transportation project in California

In a new report, the Sierra Club ranks Caltrain electrification the best transportation project in California. The report, Smart Choices, Less Traffic: 50 Best and Worst Transportation Projects in the United States, ranks the best and worst transportation project for each of the 50 states.

The Sierra Club’s Loma Prieta Chapter praised the project for replacing expensive, dirty diesel fuel with cheaper and cleaner electricity, and helping more people in the Peninsula get around without driving.  A San Diego freeway project was ranked the worst project in California. The full report is available here.
