First, myself is not opponent for bike on board.

I believe that some of bike capacity issue can be improved by thier time table. You stated that "I would not have to wait for the bus and I would not be at risk for missing my train because of a late bus." If Caltrain have express train every 15minutes in peak hour, late bus will not be a big problem.

Current Caltrain schedule, for example evening NB from San Jose, depart each 05, 25, 29, 39, 45. There are 5 train/h but sometimes you need to wait more than 20 minutes. Train spacing is not constant and each train have different stop pattern.

"Baby Bullet SJ to SF within hour" is great. However, I prefer "Express train depart every 15min but SF-SJ takes 65 minutes". Every 15min (4 train/h) seems to difficult because Caltrain runs 4 out of 5 train runs as express.

If express train runs every 15 minuts, do you still need bicycle?
